Like Parent, like Child: General and Specific Associations Between Parents’ and Children’s Binary Gender Identity in a Gender Egalitarian Context

Abstract There is ample scientific evidence for the importance of parental gender socialization in children’s binary development. Surprisingly, little known about role parents’ own identity development their children. Therefore, present study investigated association between and (i.e., similarity to same- other-gender individuals) a sample 142 Dutch families with child ages 6 12 years old.
